Medal of Honor - European Assault

A Huge Leap In The Right Direction.
Review By L.N.T.

A lot of people were disappointed with Rising Sun, the previous game in the MoH series, and I was on of them. It was too unpolished, and the enemy AI was downright stupid. European Assault fixes all this, while matching the level of gameplay set by Frontline.

GRAPHICS: The graphics on this game are really nice. A huge step up from the last one, for sure. The faces are detailed, the animation is fluid, and the interface is well done. There are some glitches, but nothing major.

SOUND: The orchestrated music is some of the best I've ever heard in a game, and really rivals movies like Saving Private Ryan. The gun sounds are very nice, and sound much meatier and loud. The voice actors also did a nice job, especially the old Holt that narrates the story.

CONTROLS: Very nice. The controls take what made Call of Duty so great on the PC, the down the barrel aiming. By holding down the L1 button, you look down the barrel of your gun and can aim that way. But when your behind cover, you can also lean with the left analog stick, so you can continue aiming without standing up. Controlling your squad is also easy. The only complaint here is the controls aren't customizable. Really no reason to change them, though.

GAMEPLAY: Really, really amazing. I was expecting the same old linear MoH setup, but this game really shows that the developers were listening to the fans complaints, not ignoring. The weapons are all spot on, and the missions are just fun to play. The AI is great, both for your allies and your enemies. The main complaint here is no co-op, which I was expecting after Rising Sun. Still some really great gameplay, on the same level as Frontline, and miles ahead Finest Hour.

OVERALL: This game has great presentation and single player mode, but the lack of co op and the bad multiplayer drag it down. Worth the money, most definitely.
